After three months of preparation I finally start my own art therapy sessions at Rotorua hospital on Tuesday 17 March.
The prolonged lead up to this volunteer work included an interview by three people, a Police report, a health and Safety report, blood tests, uniform, ID and a Hepatitis B vaccination. Just in time to help with any coronavirus emergency coming this way.
I will start with a single patient and gradually extend to small groups as word goes around about the benefits of making art and patients mental recovery time.
HEARTH, my new art space just up the street from Basecamp. I moved here in late July. A marvellous well light space of 70 sq metres overlooking Te Manawa Square in central Rotorua.
Its upstairs location is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing for its views and light but a curse for its inaccessibility to many because of the stairs. My few and far between visitors have all been younger people.
My approaches to council about assisting them make this area a creative zone have fallen on deaf ears. C0-operation is not a good word these days, it seems. People are supposed to market themselves in their own little box with little assistance or help to others.
HEARTH is a special place. It is designed to break down barriers - box like barriers, square like barriers!
Yet, the whole system refuses to go to the core of the problem and the core is empty and people's hopes are empty in a square based system.
How to get this new idea over to authorities?
Focus. Concentration of energy. With a square the focus of energy is strongly on the border. With the circle, it is the centre.
Emptiness characterises squares. The empty interior can be divided into smaller and smaller squares. Controlled units. Easy to analyse.
More and more analysis, more and more dividing. Less and less freedom and hope. This is our present path.
Human beings, heart centred, entrapped in a squares based matrix.
There is more and more emphasis on improving our ability to adapt to this "inevitable" reality of square existence and less and less emphasis on our sovereign soul existence.
Yet, the universe is round, nature is round. Perhaps because our controllers no nothing but emptiness and square control logic, we, as a species are forced to be prisoners in what could be a paradise, planet Earth.
Emptiness and lack are not natural attributes, but box and square ones.
Round people are heart based people. Humans who display more heart centred attributes than superficial, materialistic traits .
They show a friendly, welcoming persona. Just as a circle concentrates its strength at the centre with weaker forces moving out from it towards its soft perimeter.
Martin Licis is the new 2019 World's Strongest man and a round human. His friendly nature, strong heart and body compares favourably against many gym bodybuilders focused only on their superficial muscular exteriors. People with superficial priorities display a no heart mentality. Exactly how a square shows border strength and empty interiors. Protecting the brand because the heart is missing.
Co and Bo. Consciousness and the container, the box.
What came first? Life or space? I say life bursting out created life and space simultaneously.
Advanced life or human conscious awareness exists in space.
Life naturally springs from its nucleus and shines outward into space.
Then came along man and his need to control outcomes, resources and creative energy.
The globe of Earth now is enclosed by man made squares, rectangles and boxes. All designed to control the energy resources with their boundaries.
Consciousness exists from eons while square control parameters are a human construct with a finite lifetime.
Co can exist without Bo, but Bo cannot exist without Co.
Yet, in this world we are run by the square. However, energy can only be contained for so long inside a box before it explodes outwards. All is energy. Constraints can only last but a short time.
To Be an HEARTIST
One must have
a Heart based ethic
respect for our home planet, Earth
an art career focus
a keen responsibility for all ones actions
a truth ethic
intuition and openness to new ideas
a strong sense of one's sovereignty
talent in one's artistic creations
Random round and square notes I have written down over the years.
Lesson - keep energy going by keeping squares out
space no space
empathy no empathy
centre power boundary power
flexible boundary inflexible boundary
strong heart weak heart
Rules for Rounds
Respect for oneself and others. No parasitic behaviour.
Make your creative energy always evident
Create dynamic centres and big hearts
Give more than you receive
Boundaries and borders are not important
shun the superficial
Be sovereign and independent
Do not book keep life minute by minute
knowing not education
Being not thinking
Be powerful but gentle
Love is gravity
harmonise with nature
think outside the box
Regard fellow humans as small stars each with their own unique attributes, satellites
and rulers over their own sovereign creative space
Only man has created a square world with boundaries and division being squares main attributes
Remember inside each square is a God given eternal light being just waiting to be let free!
God dog (material world protector)
one money - my-one split m-one-y
love - unconditional love - possessive love
human Being (from God) human resource (from Satan)
To Be Alive to be enslaved
Ever expanding ever contracting
After four years living in a small city in the Arabian desert I returned to New Zealand in August 2018.
A greater contrast in landscape, climate and culture would be hard to find anywhere in the world.
We were given eight weeks to pack up and leave the country we had called home for the past 21 years.
Our use by date was up. 65 year old and older workers are not welcome anymore.
Besides our seven cats inside our villa, we feed and watered up to nine stray cats outside. It was mid summer and this meant 40 plus Centigrade maximum and 30 centigrade minimum temperatures every day for four months.
After much juggling and expense we were able to find homes for two cats in Germany, two in the UAE and we brought two home to New Zealand at great cost and time delay. The outdoor cats now had to fend for themselves but the Arabian Mau breed has been doing that for thousands for years so we were confident most would survive for three years at least.
Arabian Mau cats are one of the fastest small cat breeds blessed with long legs, short fur and muscular bodies.
